France’s top basketball league Ligue Nationale De Basket (LNB) has partnered with Sportradar, making the supplier the league’s official data partner.
It is the first basketball deal formed by Sportradar since its acquisition of sports technology solutions and data and video analytics provider Synergy Sports, which will play an important part in the deal.
Sportradar will collect and distribute the LNB’s in-play data through Synergy’s data collection system.
Synergy Sports, now a division of Sportradar, will also partner with LNB teams through its AI-driven technology platform, and will distribute audiovisual rights and offer its automated marketing imagery.
This deal will also see Sportradar also supporting the league’s integrity measures with its bet monitoring software, the Universal Fraud Detection System (UFDS). Under the agreement, Sportradar will identify potential match manipulation in LNB games.
David Lampitt, managing director, sports content and partnerships at Sportradar, said: “The LNB is one of the most important basketball leagues in Europe and we look forward to expanding our relationship with them to grow the sport further and drive new commercial opportunities.”
Michel Mimran, managing director, at Ligue Nationale de Basket, said: “This new agreement is very exciting for the LNB and will expand the way we work with a trusted partner. Sportradar will now provide us with end-to-end solutions on many fronts including AV production, AV rights as well as data collection and commercialisation. We look forward to strengthening our relationship with Sportradar for years to come.”
Sportradar also recently signed a deal providing its integrity services to Netherlands Olympic Committee*Dutch Sports Federation (NOC*NSF), and will monitor various sporting events in the Netherlands throughout 2021.
