Consumers in Iowa can place wagers on thousands of professional and collegiate sporting events using the Fubo Sportsbook mobile app, which has been integrated with FuboTV’s live TV streaming platform.

The Fubo Sportsbook also features a ‘Watching Now’ function, which leverages FuboTV’s first-party user data to allow users to instantly view wagering content based on what they are streaming.

Fubo Gaming secured approval to launch in Iowa in September after the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission cleared Fubo to offer advance deposit online sports wagering via its market access agreement with Casino Queen.

“We’re thrilled to launch Fubo Sportsbook and begin to bring US sports fans a next-level interactive viewing and betting experience — one entirely tailored to the sports and entertainment they care about most,” Fubo Gaming president Scott Butera said.

“As the industry continues to expand, it is increasingly important to meet sports fans’ growing demand for personalized and immersive experiences. By integrating with fuboTV, we aim to make that a reality.”

Fubo Gaming has also secured market access agreements in four other states: Pennsylvania via The Cordish Companies, Indiana and New Jersey with Caesars Entertainment, and Arizona via the Ak-Chin Indian Community, where it also has been granted a management services provider certification from the Arizona Department of Gaming.

Plans are in place to launch in additional states later this year and during 2022, subject to regulatory approvals.

To support this expansion, Fubo Gaming has secured partnerships with Nascar, the New York Jets of the National Football League, the National Basketball Association (NBA) and NBA team the Cleveland Cavaliers.

This expansion effort comes after FuboTV in March completed its acquisition of sportsbook operator Vigtory, driving its move into the sports wagering sector.

“fuboTV;s vision to define a new category of interactive sports and entertainment television takes another major step forward with the launch of Fubo Sportsbook,” fuboTV co-founder and chief executive David Gandler said.

“This is a pivotal moment not just for fuboTV, but for the U.S. sports wagering and entertainment industries because it is the first time the two are truly coming together in one ecosystem.”
