NY sets another online sports betting revenue record in October

New York set a new online sports betting revenue record for the second consecutive month in October, while the state’s handle reached its highest total since March.

Gross gaming revenue from online wagering amounted to $145.7m in October, up 1.67% from the existing record of $143.3m set in September.

Player spending also increased by 22.2% month-on-month to $1.54bn, the highest amount in seven months and the third-highest monthly total since the state launched its legal market at the start of the year.

Breaking down performance by operator, Flutter Entertainment-owned FanDuel retained its grip on top spot in New York with $76.4m in revenue from $609.1m in total bets.

DraftKings was second with $41.1m in online sports betting revenue off a $534.6m handle, ahead of Caesars Sportsbook with $14.9m in revenue from $195.2m in wagers.

BetMGM was next after posting $8.2m in GGR and taking $106.2m in bets, then PointsBet with $2.2m in revenue and a $39.7m handle, followed by Rush Street Interactive on $1.8m in GGR and a $41.8m handle.

Wynn Interactive generated $525,940 in GGR from $9.0m in bets, ahead of Resorts World on $463,339 from $6.9m in wagers. BallyBet placed last with a loss of $31,467 from $1.4m in total bets.
