Player spending on sports betting in Indiana increased again month-on-month in November, though the state also reported year-on-year declines across revenue and handle.
Consumers wagered a total of $452.3m on sports during November, up 1.4% from October but 2.5% lower than $463.7m in November of last year.
Football remained the most popular sport to bet on, attracting $480.6m in wagers. Baseball followed with $242.9m in bets, then basketball with $220.6m. Parlay bets totalled $479.6m and wagering on other sports reached $294.9m.
Turning to taxable adjusted gross revenue for the month, this amounted to $40.0m, which was down 14.7% from $46.9m in October and also 16.1% lower than $47.7m in November 2021.
Blue Chip Casino and partner FanDuel remained Indiana’s market leader in revenue terms, posting $18.0m from $141.6m in bets.
Ameristar Casino and its DraftKings sportsbook took more wagers – $148.4m – but could only generate $9.8m in revenue, while Belterra Casino, another FanDuel partner, ranked third with $4.9m in revenue and a $45.2m handle.
The state was also able to collect $3.8m in sports betting tax during November.
