Betting operator Betago has had its licence suspended by the Malta Gaming Authority.
The regulator said the brand, which obtained a federal sports betting licence in Germany in February 2021, has had its licence removed for three breaches of the jurisdiction’s gambling provisions
The MGA said Betago failed to discharge financial commitments for its operations and to pay cash due to the regulatory body. Betago also failed to comply with one or more applicable obligations in terms of any regulatory instrument or any other applicable law of Malta.
The MGA said the operator is no longer authorised to carry out any gaming operations, but is required to retain and provide access to all registered players to their player accounts and to refund all funds standing to the credit of players in line with the applicable law.
Betago is no longer listed on Germany’s white list of approved gambling operators and its betago.de and betago.com domains no longer work.
