Operator Betsson has been awarded its third regional online gambling licence in Argentina, securing approval in the province of Cordoba.
Issued by local regulator Loteria de Cordoba, the new licence was handed to Betsson and its partner Casino de Victoria, enabling the two businesses to launch online gambling in the region.
The partnership between Betsson and Casino de Victoria, a land-based gambling operator in Argentina and part of Grupo Mautone, began in 2019, with the two companies having also jointly secured online gaming licenses in the province of Buenos Aires and in the City of Buenos Aires.
Betsson went live in Buenos Aires in February of last year, while the new Cordoba licence is the eighth to be issued in the province.
“We are very pleased to have received a license to operate in the locally regulated market in the province of Cordoba, together with our partner, Casino de Victoria,” Betsson president and chief executive Pontus Lindwall said.
“When merging their long experience in the Argentinian market with our know-how in online gaming, we can truly reach our ambition of becoming a market leader in this rapidly growing online market.”
The approval comes after Betsson last month secured sponsorship deals with two leading Latin American football competitions in the same week.
Betsson entered into a partnership with the National Association of Professional Football in Chile, as well as Peru’s top football division Liga 1.
