Microgaming poker blog launched

The team at Microgaming’s MPN online poker network launched a blog this week aimed at providing a vehicle for the company to comment on industry issues & answer questions regarding its software & network.

The blog is accessible here: http://www.thempn.eu/blog/doesnt-mpn-talk-players/

In the first in a forthcoming series of blogs, Alex Scott, head of poker at the Isle of Man-based software provider, gives reasons for the company’s decision not to participate in the forums (in essence because the player is the operator’s customer & not theirs, & they therefore do not hold player-oriented information or funds), but notes that communication remains an important element for the company.

Although it may not actively participate in the public poker forums, the MPN team says it monitors these expressions of opinion, which help attentive companies to keep a finger on the player pulse.

“This blog is our way of sharing the team’s thoughts & ideas with the poker community,” Scott writes. “It may be one-way communication, but surely that’s better than no communication at all. With any luck, this blog will generate some discussion, & that will help us to improve our product & the game offering that we offer to [our] operators customers.

“If you like to post in the forums, that’s great. We’re watching & listening, & we read all the feedback we can. In fact, if you raise an interesting topic, maybe we’ll talk about it here on this blog.”

Scott reveals that he is a poker player & loves the game: “I ve been playing for fifteen years & I ve worked in the industry for the last nine. I ve even written a book about poker strategy. Along with my colleagues here at the MPN, I want to change the game of poker for the better,” he says.
