Bovada halts online poker service in Delaware and Nevada

BovadaOnline gambling and betting firm Bovada has followed up on its decision to stop accepting new registrations for its online poker service in New Jersey by adding fellow US states Delaware and Nevada to its restricted list.

Players in the two states will no longer be able to create new accounts on the Bovada website.

Those that attempt to access the service in Nevada or Delaware will be met by a message that reads, “We are sorry. We do not accept registrations from your state. For more information please contact us.”

The restriction will not impact existing players with an account and funds. Current customers are still able to play but are now unable to make new deposits.

Last month, iGaming Business reported that Bovada announced it would no longer be accepting new registrations from players in New Jersey, while punters in New York and Maryland are also unable to access make new accounts or deposits.

The New Jersey withdrawal came after the state’s Division of Gaming Enforcement wrote to six US affiliates earlier this month to tell them to remove “any online gaming links that are not authorised under federal law or under the law of any state”.

As reported by iGaming Business, the Equity Poker Network also announced this month that its FullFlashPoker.com flagship online poker room would withdraw its full suite of online real-money gaming options from New Jersey, as well as fellow the regulated states of Delaware and Nevada.
