Lotteries and gaming supplier GTECH has signed a seven-year contract to provide the Tennessee Education Lottery Corporation with an instant ticket lottery system and services. The companies have been working together since the launch of the lottery in 2004, with the new contract coming into force with the conversion of the lottery gaming system, due to be completed by April next year.
It comes with the option for Tennessee to extend the deal for seven more years, and GTECH expects to earn around $130m in revenue from the agreement.
The contract will see GTECH launch a new integrated drawing-style instant ticket system built around the supplier’s Enterprise Series (ES) solution. It is designed to support a minimum of 5,500 full-service terminals, and up to 7,500 machines alongside a variety of additional point-of-sale equipment.
GTECH will also install its Alture GT1200 touchscreen terminals, Gemini Ultra self-service machines and Ticket-Scan Plus self-service ticket checkers for the lottery.
The deal also sees the lottery launch a mobile app to allow players to check draw results, while GTECH will also provide ongoing services such as system maintenance, field services and marketing support, as well as helping the lottery with new game and strategic planning research.
“GTECH is privileged to have served as the Lottery’s partner from the very beginning, and has developed a highly collaborative partnership over the past decade,” GTECH Americas president and CEO Jaymin B. Patel commented. “We are dedicated to the Tennessee Lottery Corporation’s continued growth and long-term vision, and we are equally committed to the Lottery’s players, its beneficiaries, the businesses that sell lottery products, and the citizens of Tennessee.”
Tennessee Education Lottery Corporation president and chief executive Rebecca Hargrove said that working alongside GTECH had been an important factor in the lottery’s success, helping it raise more than $3bn for education-related programmes.
“They have delivered expertise and reliability to the benefit of all our stakeholders at the Tennessee Lottery,” Hargrove added. “Now, on the strength of their impressive submission, we are pleased to partner once again with GTECH as we head into our next decade of successful operations.”
