Williams expands social portfolio with Gold Fish Casino Slots

Scientific Games subsidiary Williams Interactive has looked to capitalise on the success of its free-to-play app Jackpot Party Casino with the launch of a new social casino app. Gold Fish Casino Slots is now available across a number of platforms including Facebook, iOS, Android and Kindle, and like Jackpot Party features a range of Williams Interactive parent company WMS Gaming’s land-based slots, repurposed as social slots.

Gold Fish has been developed to have a different feel to Jackpot Party, featuring what is described as an unique progressive feature that is designed to appeal to the supplier’s existing social casino players as well as new clients.

The company’s vice president and managing director for social gaming Aaron Schurman commented that he was excited to launch Gold Fish across multiple platforms, just two years after the Jackpot Party Casino went live.

“Gold Fish Casino Slots presents a unique metagame designed to appeal to our existing players and maximize our ability to acquire new players for the rapidly expanding Williams Interactive social casino ecosystem,” Schurman said.

“The introduction of Gold Fish Casino Slots enhances the position of Williams Interactive as an optimal partner for intellectual property owners, including third party brand holders, by allowing them to maximize their value across multiple social casino games,” he added.

Williams Interactive first entered the social casino space with the launch of Lucky Cruise Casino, developed in partnership with developer Large Animal Games. It then acquired development studio Phantom EFX, before releasing its second app, Jackpot Party Casino, in July 2012. The app was then rolled out to iOS in March 2013, and for Android devices in June of the same year.

In Scientific Games’ full-year results for 2013 it was revealed that social gaming contributed $8.4m to the supplier’s total revenue of $28.4m from interactive products and services, aided by Jackpot Party Casino’s 1.2m average daily active users.
