Belgian online gambling operator 711 BV has secured a new online casino licence in The Netherlands.
Issued by Dutch regulator de Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), the licence will enable 711 to offer online slot games to players in the country’s regulated market.
It was not confirmed what domain 711 would operate under in The Netherlands, but the regulator did reveal that the new licence will run for a period of five years, from 16 March 2022 to 15 March 2027.
Meanwhile, the KSA announced that more than 10,000 people have registered with Cruks, the country’s online gambling self-exclusion program.
Players that opt into Cruks agree to block themselves from gambling online, playing at slot machine arcades or land-based Holland Casino venues or a period of at least six months.
Consumers can sign up to the program voluntarily and exclude themselves for a period of time or be involuntarily admitted by an interested party such as a partner, family member or gambling operator.
In the case of involuntary admissions, the interested party submits a request to the KSA, which the takes the case under consideration before making a decision on any blocking.
Cruks had been due to go live on 1 October, the same day The Netherlands opened its regulated online gambling market, but malfunctioned and was not made available until 4 October.
