A Gamebookers Sportsbook (SBR rating B-) player has submitted a complaint.
The player registered for Gamebookers on November 3. His first deposit was for $250. Soon after making his deposit and doubling his balance, the player received a notification that his account was closed as Gamebookers no longer accepts registrations from Russia.
The player did not realize Gamebookers did not accept players from Russia, as his country was listed in the dropdown list when creating his account.
A day after making his deposit, the player sent a copy of his passport to verify his account and comply with the KYC regulations of the betting site. His balance was $512.
Within 24 hours of sending the ID, the player received an email that his account was closed. He was told that only his starting deposit of $250 would be returned to his Webmoney account. He has not received his deposit back in the last 10 days, and has been given no additional updates from Gamebookers on the status of his refund.
Sportsbook Review has followed up with Gamebookers to discuss the complaint. The player’s argument is a strong one: He was not made aware of any restrictions in signing up, he correctly registered his details through the software, and the software accepted his wager.
Gamebookers is powered by bwin.party digital entertainment, which also include betting sites bwin, PartyGaming, PartyPoker.
