Californian Native American tribe the Pala Band of Mission Indians is set to launch an online gaming service in the US state of New Jersey next week through a partnership with Atlantic City’s Borgata Hotel & Spa.
As reported earlier this month by iGaming Business, the tribe, through its Pala Interactive gambling arm, had its partnership with Borgata conditionally approved by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement.
Following this approval, the Associated Press news agency reports that the tribe has now commenced a test of its PalaCasino.com online gaming offering in the state.
The service, which will feature more than 90 games, is expected to fully launch on Monday after it receives full approval from the state’s regulatory body.
Jeremy Clemons, chief marketing officer Pala Interactive, said: “Our launch in New Jersey is a huge step for the company, and we want to make sure we’re rolling out one of the best, most user-friendly casino experience on the market.
“We value the input we’ll receive from our beta testers and look forward to getting our beta launch test program running.”
The tribe, which already runs the land-based Pala Casino and Spa in California, has been keen to expand into internet gaming and will now use one of Borgata’s online gambling licences to launch its new service in New Jersey.
The Pala Band of Mission Indians is also reportedly planning to launch an online poker website during the first quarter of 2015.
