Third online poker bill introduced in Pennsylvania

Third online poker bill introduced in PennsylvaniaPennsylvania State Representative Tina Davis has become the third government figure to introduce an online gaming bill in the US state this year.

According to various reports, the new HB920 bill features many similarities to the online gaming legislation that Davis put forward in 2013.

Davis will be hoping for a different result this time, with the previous legislation having fallen short at the committee stage.

The new bill will sit alongside another bill put forward by Representative John Payne earlier this year.

Bill HB649 would enable Pennsylvania to offer legal online poker and casino games.

Representative Nick Miccarelli has also put forward a bill in the form of HB695, but many in the state believe Payne’s bill has the greatest chance of being passed.

Meanwhile, Delaware, one of only three states in the US to have legalised some form of online gaming, has announced an increase in internet poker revenue during the month of February.

The Delaware State Lottery reported that revenue from online poker in the state amounted to $36,526 (€31,781) in February, up from $27,965.

Delaware’s online poker had been in a two-month decline prior to the increase in revenue during February.

Wider internet gaming activities in the state also grew in the month, with total online gambling revenue up from $132,074 in January to $143,101 in February.
