UK National Lottery operator Camelot has launched a new campaign in an effort to generate interest in social media gaming on Facebook and Twitter.
Developed in partnership with social media agency Kindred, a number of new instant win games, such as ‘Hook a Duck’, will give players the changes to win real-money prizes this Thursday.
Social media users can interact with the National Lottery on Facebook or Twitter in order to be in with a chance of winning prizes.
Users can comment on the official National Lottery Facebook page or send a tweet on Twitter with the hashtag ‘#HookMeADuck’ and the colour of the duck they would like to be hooked.
Prizes on offer to players are worth up to £100 (€139/$147).
Martyn Baxter, head of instants at Camelot, told TheDrum.com: “The live-streamed real-time nature of ‘Play With Us’ is designed to bring to life the excitement and instant gratification of playing Instant Win Games and Scratchcards.
“Drawing upon the successes of previous activity, such as ‘Draw My Win’ in October, we know that IWG players who follow the National Lottery on Facebook and Twitter really enjoy the interactive element of our social media activity, and so we’re pleased to reward them for their support by giving them a further opportunity to get involved once again.”
Planned and activated by IProspect and Vizeum, the campaign follows a social media scratchcard activity that last week received 33,000 entries, with £2,600 in cash awarded to 100 entrants.
