Chinese lottery technology supplier China LotSynergy Holdings has successfully launched a sports lottery offering in Cambodia.
Last year, China LotSynergy’s wholly owned subsidiary Ace Metro Limited inked a 10-year exclusive deal with Cambodia’s National Sport Lottery Company Ltd. to develop Cambodia’s national lottery business. On Tuesday, the partners made their plan a reality via the launch of betting terminals, lottery games and a telephone-based ‘hotline transaction system.’
In exchange for an undisclosed share of revenue, Ace Metro has agreed to provide roughly 7k betting terminals, making this Cambodia’s largest lottery transaction system. China LotSynergy said its system could support up to 10k terminals.
Ace Metro will also provide transaction and management applications systems and is responsible for game development, new media lottery sales operation and management, customer service, technical support and maintenance, plus point-of-sales training.
The partners have jointly developed lotto-type ’40 pick 6’ and digit-type ‘4D’ games, and single-match and high-frequency games are in the pipeline. The partners plan to make full use of mobile and online channels to boost Cambodia’s lottery market.
Cambodia keeps a tight leash on its sports betting market and the National Sports Lottery product is the only one of its kind authorized by Cambodia’s National Olympic Committee (NOC). Cambodia is set to host the 32nd Southeast Asian Games in 2023 and the NOC hopes funds raised via the new sports lottery will help offset some of the hosting obligations.
Earlier in the week, China LotSynergy announced its Guangzhou Lottery Terminal Company subsidiary had won bids to supply sports lottery terminals in China’s Shaanxi and Hunan provinces. The company says the deal expands its Chinese presence to 11 provinces/regions and gives it a 32% share of nationwide sports lottery sales, making it the country’s largest sports lottery supplier.
