ZEAL Network chief executive to step down

ZEAL Network, the online lottery firm that rebranded from Tipp24 last year, has announced that Dr Hans Cornehl is to step down from his role as chief executive officer of the company at the end of this year.

Cornehl, who has served at the helm for four years, informed the company that he does not intend to renew his current contract when it runs out on December 31 this year.

In addition to his role as CEO, Cornehl served on the firm’s executive board for 13 years.

“The supervisory board has accepted his decision with regret and thanks Dr Cornehl for his exceptionally successful work on the strategic realignment and further development of the company,” ZEAL said.

ZEAL has wasted no time in finding a replacement for Cornehl, with the company announcing that Dr Helmut Becker will take up the role of chief executive at the end of the year.

Becker has been serving in his current position as chief marketing officer since June 2013.

Becker, who is also a member of the ZEAL executive board, previously held top management positions with companies such as XING and the eBay’s German arm.
