Mobile gaming platform provider Nektan and newspaper publisher News UK have completed the launch of ‘Sun Play’, a new gaming application that has been developed exclusively for UK newspaper the Sun.
As reported by iGaming Business, Nektan in February struck a deal with News UK to develop a new gaming product for its Sun newspaper.
Sun Play will offer Sun-branded free and real-money cash games across mobile, tablet and desktop.
The application will run alongside the newspaper’s existing gambling brands such as the Sun Bingo and Fabulous Bingo online bingo services.
While News UK will be responsible for marketing of the Sun Play service, Nektan will continue to bring new content to the service and operate the end-to-end player management and back office operations through its Evolve technology platform.
“News UK constantly strives to increase the level of engagement users have with our brands and we recognise that the fastest growing way to play games is now on smartphone apps,” News UK chief executive officer Mike Darcey said.
“We’ve had huge success offering The Sun on mobile and tablet and believe Sun Play is the ideal way for us to continue to extend our entertainment platforms, while also reaching new audiences.”
