Sports betting revenue and handle in October reached new monthly highs during October, according to the latest figures published by the Oregon Lottery.
Player spending in October amounted to $55.6m (£47.1m/€54.3m(, which was 29.6% higher than the existing record of $42.9m set in April this year.
The figure was also 47.9% ahead of $37.6m in October last year and 41.5% up from $39.3m in September this year.
Turning to gross gaming revenue and this amounted to $5.8m, which was 5.5% higher than the previous record of $5.0m reported in September this year.
The Oregon Lottery also said the October total was 93.3% up from $3.0m in the same month in 2021.
Of all revenue in the month, just $1,336 came from Scoreboard, with the rest generated by DraftKings. The Oregon Lottery’s Scoreboard online sportsbook has been phased out and replaced by DraftKings, but still pays out on bets placed before this process began.
As the new NFL season entered its second month, this ensure football remained by far the most popular sport to wager on, drawing $21.4m in bets and generating $2.9m in revenue.
Basketball followed with a $12.7m handle and $1.0m in revenue, then baseball with $7.3m in bets and $708,268 worth of revenue.
DraftKings processed $39.6m worth of single and teaser bets and $16.0m in parlay wagers, with Scoreboard taking just $1,398 in single and teaser bets.
The figure was also 47.9% ahead of $37.6m in October last year and 41.5% up from $39.3m in September this year.
