Fun88 advises player to launch complaint with gaming regulator

Fun88imageA Fun88.co.uk (unrated) player has filed a complaint with SBR.

The player requested a payout of £304, he has never previously been paid from the online sportsbook.

Following his payout request, the player was asked to submit a range of documents to satisfy the Know Your Customer (KYC) process, including a photograph of himself holding his passport next to his face.

The player complied with the request, but he has been told that a decision has been made to close his account and freeze his funds.

Sportsbook Review spoke with Fun88.co.uk concerning this decision and was advised that their fraud management team concluded the ID documents submitted by the player were fake, an assertion the player denies.

Fun88 has advised both SBR and the player himself that he may proceed to launch a complaint with the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission to further contest the issue. The online sportsbook believes to have taken the appropriate action, given the following section of their terms and conditions:

“7.2 You warrant that all information supplied when registering and completing the Membership Application is accurate, true and complete, including your name on the Membership Application, sources of funds (including the relevant payment details, bank accounts and card
numbers) and address. Checks for fictitious registration details will be undertaken at the point of registration and when withdrawals are made and these checks will be undertaken using in house methods and third party specialist fraud prevention agencies.”.
