Online betting and gaming company Dafabet has moved to further strengthen its commercial activity in the professional sports sector by signing a deal to become title sponsor for the 2015 World Cup of Pool.
The tournament, which will now be known as the Dafabet World Cup of Pool, will take place from September 22-27 at London’s York Hall.
The World Cup of Pool is organised by Matchroom Sport and Dafabet already has a relationship with the promoter, having also sponsored a number of its boxing and snooker properties.
Dafabet also has a presence in the UK’s football market, having recently signed deals with English Premier League team Sunderland and the Welsh Premier League top-tier club competition.
“We’re delighted to have Dafabet on board for one of pool’s majors,” Matchroom Sport chairman Barry Hearn said.
“We have worked successfully with them in the past and are really looking forward to forging a strong partnership through the Dafabet World Cup of Pool.”
John Cruces, head of marketing operations at Dafabet, added: “With Dafabet’s key markets being Asia and the UK, this partnership allows us to connect with pool followers on an international basis to give Dafabet increased exposure across a global platform.”
