Gaming Laboratories secures approval in Portugal

Technical consulting and independent certification firm Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) has been given approval to begin performing online gaming compliance testing in Portugal.

The company was granted accreditation to commence operations in the country by the Serviço de Regulação e Inspeção de Jogos (SRIJ) body.

GLI is already present in a number of markets around the world, performing a range of compliance tests on operators in a host of regions.

“Portugal is the latest extremely important regulated jurisdiction GLI proudly adds to its long list of approved iGaming jurisdictions it can test for and facilitate transfer of approvals to,” GLI’s vice-president of iGaming, Salim Adatia, said.

Martin Britton, managing director for Europe and Africa at GLI, added: “We have worked diligently with the regulator since the initial stages of the introduction of iGaming regulations in Portugal through to the stage of this recent accreditation.

“This latest accreditation enhances GLI’s value to our clients who are currently active in the iGaming space, many of which have expressed aspirations to enter the Portuguese market with GLI’s assistance alongside the extensive list of established jurisdictions GLI already tests them for.”
