Arizona-based third party casino games developer Design Works Gaming (DWG) has signed a license and integration agreement with International Game Technology (IGT) to launch its Great Winaldo slot on DoubleDown Casino.
The free-to-play 3×5 reel, 30 payline slot features a 19th Century magician’s act, with players able to win additional virtual chips through mini games and a Second Chance Stacks feature.
“There are many games in the market today that feature stacked symbols,” DWG president and CEO Troy Zurawski said of the new feature.
“Too often they tease the potential of a big win, but none have provided a second chance, until now,” he explained. “We went a step further and gave players a second chance at triggering the free game bonus, or even improving it.”
Second Chance Stacks sees Winaldo wave his wand over the reels, revealing stacks of bonus symbols. Three or more stacks then triggers a free games bonus.
Established in 2005, DWG has developed more than 200 games for land-based, online, mobile and social casino play.
The Great Winaldo will be available via the DoubleDown Casino Facebook app, as well as on the mobile variants for both iOS and Android devices.
This free-to-play launch will be followed by the release of a land-based, real-money version of the game on iGT’s CrystalDual gaming cabinet, scheduled to go live by the end of the year.
