Analytics company Newzoo has entered into a partnership with global e-sports organisation Fnatic.
Under the deal, the terms of which were not disclosed, Newzoo will help Fnatic identify and evaluate potential sponsors and media partners, while Fnatic will offer up its social media following of e-sports enthusiasts.
In a statement confirming the deal, Newzoo said the aim of the partnership is to “provide deep and global insights into the e-sports audience”.
Peter Warman, chief executive of Newzoo, added: “Slowly but surely, companies ranging from big global advertising brands to traditional media giants are realising that e-sports is more than a stand-alone and temporary phenomenon.
“The business, consumer and technology trends that are driving the explosive growth of e-sports are reshaping digital media as a whole and accelerating the inevitable disruption of the traditional media space.
“Teams are at the very epicentre of change and I am extremely proud to work with the most popular, professional and fun team in this space.”
Wouter Sleijffers, chief executive of Fnatic, was also supportive of the new deal, adding: “Following a number of discussions that took place across the globe, we discovered the unique insights this partnership will deliver, from industry-wide trends do deep audience insights that can help our existing partners and new non-endemic brands looking to enter and find value in the vastly growing e-sports audience.”
