A new social betting platform WantMyBet has this week launched in the UK, which enables people to search and discover the latest bets from tipsters around the world.
Launched in partnership with UK bookmakers William Hill, Ladbrokes and BoyleSports, the site allows anyone to share their top betting tips with people who fancy a flutter.
Initially launched for football betting, users looking to place a bet ahead of the weekend’s football can view the statistics and success rates of each tipster.
WantMyBet has also partnered with OPTA to provider players with statistics behind each bet.
“WantMyBet has stripped out the complicated betting jargon and simplified the markets to make betting easier for the novice,” said the company. “The site uniquely integrates three of the leading bookmaker platforms so users can place bets without being redirected to other apps or websites.”
The site also encourages friendly competition and allows players to go head-to-head, with users able to win cash prizes each week based on particular betting challenges.
WantMyBet was founded by Olly Joshi, Will Chapman and Tom Gooday, after the three decided to create a digital platform to help people make better-informed decisions while betting.
Investor Elliot Gleave, better known as international touring musician and songwriter Example, said: “As soon as I heard about WantMyBet I wanted to get involved. I’m a big fan of startups and love what these guys are doing.
“Combining the social element with betting is a very interesting space that I can see doing very well. It’s a genuinely innovative platform that I think will change the way people place their football bets. Being massive a football fan I’d definitely get on this site to find tips for the weekend.”
