Coral ventures into Irish racing with new sponsorship dealCoral has opted to expand its commercial activities into the Irish racing market by striking a deal to sponsor Leopardstown Racecourse’s January meeting for the next three years.

The Coral.ie Hurdle Meeting will be first staged on January 17, 2016 event and will run until 2018.
 
The move comes shortly after Coral obtained an Irish betting licence that allows it to take bets from people in the jurisdiction.

“This is Coral’s first sponsorship venture in Irish horse racing and it gives us the perfect platform to promote the Coral name, our passion for horse racing, and the benefits of our online and mobile betting service to Irish racing fans and punters,” Coral PR director Simon Clare said.

Pat Keogh, chief executive of Leopardstown Racecourse, added: “The two feature races on the day are both steeped in tradition.

“The Coral.ie Hurdle is always an extremely competitive race and the bonus with the Coral Cup at Cheltenham adds a new dimension that will be very popular.”
