Swedish state-owned lottery operator Svenska Spel has had its gaming licence renewed in the country by national gambling regulator Lotteriinspektionen.
The licence will run for three years, from January 1, 2016 through to the end of December 2018.
Under the extended licence, Svenska Spel will be able to continue to offer lottery, betting, casino, poker and slots services in Sweden.
Lotteriinspektionen usually only awards two-year licences, but opted to grant an additional year after the Swedish government appointed a commission to make proposals for new gaming regulation by March 2017, stating that the ongoing talks made the extended term “justified”.
