PokerStars owner Rational Group has confirmed that it is conducting a global search for a new head of sportsbook following the departure of Stephen Fisk.
No reason has been given for Fisk’s departure from the company, which comes just months after PokerStars launched its sportsbook in selected markets in December under the BetStars brand.
Fisk had been with the operator since joining as director of security in January 2007, later taking on the roles of director of payments and security, and director of operations.
Most recently he served as managing director of sportsbook, where he was responsible for the overall set up and execution of PokerStar’s entrance into the sports betting sector.
In this role, he also oversaw sportsbook-related product development, trading, business development and marketing teams for Rational Group.
