A MarathonBet player has claimed that his account was closed one month ago along with a $2,300 balance.
The player has claimed that he has operated his MarathonBet account for two years and that he believed his account to have been in good standing for the duration of his play with the sports betting site.
He did not specify if he had previously successfully completed the betting site’s Know Your Customer (KYC) process, however, which may be a factor in the present account status.
Sportsbook Review recently gave detailed suggestions on how to expedite the KYC process with online sportsbooks.
The online sportsbook would have to refund the player’s deposit even if it could show that the player’s ID was fraudulent; this aligns with the sports betting industry standard of not profiting from fraud.
SBR has asked MarathonBet for more information on the case and if the player is able to reopen his account.
MarathonBet holds a gaming license with both the UK Gambling Commission and the Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC).
MarathonBet players in need of assistance are encouraged to submit a sportsbook complaint form.
