Online sports betting operator PointsBet has set out plans to launch in Colorado next year after the state last week legalised sports wagering.
PointsBet, which already holds licences in New Jersey and Iowa, intends to roll out both retail and mobile sports betting services in Colorado, via a partnership with the Double Eagle Casino in Cripple Creek.
The Colorado Division of Gaming is in the process of establishing regulations for the state’s legal sports betting market, and PointsBet said it will now work with the regulator with the aim of launching its operations next year.
Colorado Governor Jared Polis signed off a bill to legalise sports betting in the state back in May, but the measure had to be put to voters in order to come into effect.
Last week, secured 51.1% of the vote, with a total of 756,720 people voting in favour of legalizing sports betting, and 723,665 against.
