Betting services supplier Sports Information Services (SIS) has expanded its horse racing portfolio through agreements with Czech racetrack operator LAB, and Kincsem Park, the home of Hungarian racing.
The deals see SIS become the exclusive distributor of live pictures and data of horse races in the two countries. SIS’s operator partners will benefit from at least 300 races per year from four of the Czech Republic’s biggest racecourses, and 265 races per year from Hungary’s Kincsem Park.
The races will be made available through SIS’s international retail channels, as well as its 24/7 live horse racing channels and 24/7 live horse & greyhound channels, which provide a betting event every three minutes.
William Morris, head of international horse racing at SIS, said: “Securing the exclusive rights to deliver live pictures and data for horse racing in the Czech Republic and Hungary is a boost to our international offering.
“These additional races further enhance our 24/7 racing service, providing even more quality betting opportunities throughout the day, regardless of time zone, with content that will appeal to bettors, and help drive turnover for operators.”
Vicki Gibbins, operations and sales director at LAB said the partnership made “strategic sense”, adding: “Many bettors will be aware of our world-famous race, Velka Pardubicka and we are excited that thanks to this deal with SIS more bettors from all over the world will be able to enjoy and wager on it.”
Istvan Pecsi, Managing Director at Kincsem Park, expressed enthusiasm that “more people than ever before will be able to see the exciting action from our racecourses.”
SIS was forced into ‘hibernation mode’ earlier this year due to a lack of live racing and worldwide closure of betting shops during the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. In response to the crisis, the company shut down all non-essential services and furloughed a significant number of staff, in order to protect its long-term future.
