Online gaming firm bwin.party announced that Lord Moonie has stepped down as a non-executive director with immediate effect. Simon Duffy, chairman of bwin.party, said the move “conforms to our previously stated aim to reduce the size of the board, whilst maintaining compliance with the UK Corporate Governance Code’s recommendation on the balance of independent and non-independent directors
“Lewis has made a significant contribution to both the development of PartyGaming and bwin.party. We thank him for his tireless efforts over the last six years and wish him well for the future,” he added.
Following Lord Moonie’s resignation the board comprises nine directors. Excluding the Chairman, four directors are deemed to be independent and four directors are deemed to be non-independent.
