Intralot hands temporary directorial role to Tsoumas

Greek gaming and lotteries operator and supplier Intralot has appointed Ioannis Tsoumas as a temporary independent non-executive member, following the passing of Sotirios Filos.

Tsoumas will serve in the role until at least Intralot’s next general assembly, the timing for which is yet to be announced.

He will be the third independent non-executive member on the Intralot board of directors, alongside Anastasios Tsoufis and Ioannis Tsoukaridis.

Intralot founder Sokratis Kokkalis chairs the board, while other members include vice chairman Constantinos Antonopoulos, chief executive Christos Dimitriadis and deputy chief executive Chrysostomos Sfatos.

In addition to taking a place on Intralot’s board, Tsoumas will join the supplier’s audit and compliance committee as its chairman.

Tsoumas will be joined on the committee by both Tsoufis and Tsoukaridis.

The appointment comes after Intralot last month reported a 55.5% year-on-year decline in revenue for the first half of 2020, as the supplier’s B2B and B2C arms were hit by ongoing struggles in Turkey and Bulgaria.

Total revenue during the six months through to 30 June amounted to €168.2m (£152.2m/$198.0m).
