Playtech and Holland Casino Shake Hands on a New Partnership

Playtech and Holland Casino shake hands on a new partnership that will see the Israeli outfit become the online service provider of choice, when the Dutch online market is finally legalized.

Just weeks after Peter Amsel reported on the news that Playtech’s primary affiliate program Euro Partners was withdrawing from Canadian, Finnish and Dutch markets, news has surfaced that Playtech have inked a deal with Holland Casino that will see the Israeli outfit become the online service provider of choice should legalized online gambling come to fruition in 2015.

The Dutch gambling monopoly is said to have selected Playtech after going through a competitive tender process.

“We will soon offer our players a unique gaming environment and experience,” said Holland Casino’s interim CEO Willem-Jan van den Dijssel. “Coupled with the expertise of Playtech, we look forward with confidence to the forthcoming regulation of the market.”

Holland Casino has a monopoly on land-based gambling across the land of tulips and windmills, but this won’t be the case under the proposed iGaming framework, where only a piece of the pie will be served.

The potential in the Dutch market is huge with over 700,000 online casino players in the country, generating upwards of €150m in online gambling revenues.

The Dutch government recently placed sanctions on Holland Casino, in the form of a special administration, after it’s financial situation set alarm bells ringing loud enough to result in a third of their HQ being made redundant.

It’s believed the deal will see Playtech create a platform that includes roulette, blackjack, slot machines, poker and bingo, and comes just weeks after announcing that all of its live games would be available across all mobile platforms including Native and HTML5.
