Paddy Power is expanding its chain of betting shops following the announcement that they have purchased nine outlets from Hackett’s Bookmakers for an undisclosed sum.
The nine shops, which will be rebranded and refit as Paddy Power early in the new year following the completion of the transaction, are located in Dublin (4 shops), Limerick (2 shops), Templemore, Clonmel and Tullamore.
The acquisition sees Paddy Power continuing to invest in their Irish retail operation expanding its estate of shops from 223 to 232 in the Republic of Ireland.
Earlier this year, the company also unveiled a new modern look for their retail estate when they opened a flagship shop in Stillorgan in March, which incorporated a range of betting technology, including a premium audio-visual experience, enhanced racing content and mobile tablets, cementing Paddy Power’s position at the forefront of betting innovation across all of its businesses.
The new Paddy Power shop design has been rolled out across all new shops as well as a number of existing shops over the last nine months and this roll-out will be accelerated in 2014.
A spokesperson for Paddy Power said: “We are delighted that, as we celebrate 25 years in business, we are continuing to add new shops to our estate and to bring the Paddy Power value and customer experience to more punters across Ireland”.
