Realistic Games awarded Gibraltar gaming licence

UK-based slots and table games developer Realistic Games has become the latest company to be awarded an online gaming licence by the Gibraltar Gambling Commission. The supplier becomes just the seventh company to be awarded a B2B Remote Gambling Licence, and will open an office in Gibraltar as it looks to expand its games portfolio and client base.

The company’s commercial director Andy Harris said that securing a licence as “a hugely important step” for Realistic. He explained that being licensed by Gibraltar’s highly-regarded regulator would be a major factor in helping the business attract new customers.

“It is also important to our customers who can take great confidence in the fact that we are a supplier of repute that has passed the most stringent tests of probity and due diligence,” Harris added.

Realistic works with a number of leading operators, including bet365, BetVictor, Ladbrokes, Paddy Power and Stan James.

Commenting on the establishment of a secondary office in the jurisdiction, Harris said that the addition of a Gibraltar-based team would help the company maintain high level of customer service even as its client base grew.

“They will also be hugely valuable in ensuring that we effectively manage all of our regulatory and administrative requirements in Gibraltar,” he explained.

The Gibraltar Gambling Commission has awarded six other pure B2B licences. Scientific Games and its Williams Interactive subsidiary are both licensed, as is Bally Technologies and SHFL Interactive. IGT has also been licensed, alongside platform provider Odobo.

A number of other B2B companies including GTECH and Amaya’s Ongame are also licensed, though under standard casino licences.

A total of 29 licensed have been awarded in Gibraltar, including operators such as bwin.party, William Hill and Betfair.
