Betting operator Gala Coral has announced the appointment of Fiona Thorne to the newly-created role of corporate affairs director.Thorne will assume the role in early April and report directly to chief executive officer Carl Leaver.
In the new role, Thorne will be responsible for the development and delivery of Gala Coral’s communication strategy, which includes public affairs, financial PR, corporate positioning and issues management.
Thorne previously served as chief executive officer of the Fishburn Hedges communications agency.
“It is critical for our business, and for the wider industry, that we are able to engage fully in the important debate about the role that betting and gambling has to play in our society,” Leaver said.
“We are delighted to have been able to hire someone of Fiona’s experience and expertise to help us have the dialogue we need with all those who have an interest in the sector.”
