UK independent bookmaker Betfred has moved to enhance its mobile sportsbook with the launch of Skrill’s instant deposit online payment solution 1-Tap.The 1-Tap solution is connected to Skrill’s Digital Wallet and allows players to deposit funds with just one tap, without having to enter login details or credit card information each time. After an initial deposit is made the customer’s details are saved, enabling the 1-Tap functionality for all future transactions.
The launch of the feature is described as “essential” to help Betfred make payments more convenient for customers as mobile gaming increases in popularity.
Betfred head of payments Dennis Luckett explained that the company wanted to be the leading mobile betting operator, and offering as simple a solution as possible was key to this.
“[Customers] expect to be able to manage all their online accounts on the move and so giving them this ability, and ensuring payment is quick and easy, is a huge priority for us,” Luckett said. “With Skrill 1-Tap, we know we have a solution that will deliver.”
The operator also highlighted a report by Juniper Research that predicted around 164m people are expected to place a bet, visit a casino or buy a lottery ticket via a smartphone or tablet by 2018, as a key motivation in improving its mobile offering.
