UK regulator revokes BetButler’s remote operating licence

betbutlerimageThe UK Gambling Commission has revoked BetButler’s remote operating licence following a review of the online sports betting broker.

The regulatory body listed four reasons for its decision to revoke the licence of the operator, which recently halted trading ahead of a potential sale.

The Commission concluded that BetButler had breached one or more conditions of the licence and that it is now unsuitable to carry out its licensed activities in a manner consistent with the licensing objectives.

The regulator also said it is not satisfied as to the competence and the financial circumstances of BetButler.

The Commission stated that the licence was revoked under sections 117(1)(f) and 119(1) of the Gambling Act 2005.
