Operated by Geo24, the game uses the familiar Google Maps interface to divide the UK into purchasable squares. It enables users to pick locations which may have personal relevance to them instead of the conventional number selection offering presented by traditional lottery games. Squares are entered into a prize draw each Saturday, with cash prizes of £5 to £1 million available to the owners of winning squares.
The launch of GeoLotto.com took place on Monday 22nd September and the first draw held on Saturday 27th September. A multi-million pound media launch campaign is now under way, featuring peak-time TV adverts voiced by television star, Keith Lemon alongside online and print promotion.
Henry Oakes, Co-founder and Director of Sales at Geonomics, says:
“I am delighted to see GeoLotto.com, our latest development hit the UK market. This marks a significant milestone in our journey to present an innovative, well-tested and engaging location-based lotto game that we know players will enjoy playing.
“True to our core development values of building technologically-robust products with the player always at the forefront in our minds, GeoLotto.com comes to the market refined and improved upon by over 12 months’ of real players’ feedback. It has undergone extensive, continuous agile testing to provide the very best user experience.
“We are proud of our dynamic new product and believe we are bringing lotto gaming into the future by creating games that players want to play across a range of digital media.”
