Sportradar slam-dunks BBL betting data partnership

Sports and betting-related services company Sportradar has entered into a partnership with the British Basketball League (BBL), operator of the top-tier men’s professional basketball club competition in the UK.

The one-year will run throughout the duration of the 2014-15 season.

Under the agreement, Sportradar will become the BBL’s preferred betting data partner for the new campaign.

The deal will also see the number of games covered by the organisation’s in-house online pay-television channel BBL TV increased from 30 to 45.

“The opportunity to help in the development and growth of UK basketball is an exciting one, and we are proud that our partnership will see the league’s channel broadcast 50% more matches than it did last season,” Sportradar’s managing director data and licensing, Johannes Ranke, said.

David Leyden Dunbar, commercial director of the BBL, added: “This is such a positive news story at the beginning of the 2014-15 season, where we’ve been able to deliver a partnership which all BBL fans can benefit from instantly.

“This season we’ve strived to improve BBL TV’s output but the addition of 15 extra live games has only been made possible through Sportradar’s investment and support.”
