DraftKings secures fantasy sports deal with Houston Rockets

Boston-based online fantasy sports operator DraftKings has announced a partnership with National Basketball Association (NBA) team the Houston Rockets. The deal is DraftKings’ second partnership with an NBA side, after agreeing a deal to become the official daily fantasy game partner of the Philadelphia 76ers.

Under the terms of the partnership, DraftKings branding will appear on the bench areas and courtside signage at the Rockets’ Toyota Centre arena in Texas. The operator will also launch daily fantasy contests and promote the team online.

“The Rockets are thrilled to be one of the major cornerstone franchises aligning with DraftKings,” the Rockets vice president of corporate development John Croley commented. “We consider DraftKings to be an industry leader and are excited to partner with them as they provide fans one more way to interact and engage with the Houston Rockets through daily fantasy sports.”

DraftKings vice president of business development Jeremy Elbaum said his company “couldn’t be more excited” to partner the team.

“We’re looking forward to our work with the Rockets to enhance the fan experience, both in the arena and through other media, with special daily fantasy contests, programs and information,” he added.

DraftKings recently partnered National Football League team the New England Patriots and also agreed a partnership with the National Hockey League.
