DraftKings expands US pro sports presence with third NBA deal

US-based fantasy sports operator DraftKings has moved to enhance its presence in the US professional sports market by entering into a partnership with NBA basketball franchise the Houston Rockets.

Under the deal, the terms of which were not disclosed, DraftKings will benefit from branding on team bench areas and courtside signage.

Jeremy Elbaum, vice-president of business development at DraftKings, said: “We’re looking forward to our work with the Rockets to enhance the fan experience, both in the arena and through other media, with special daily fantasy contests, programmes and information.”

The Rockets will become DraftKings’ third partner in the NBA, with the operator already having secured deals with the Philadelphia 76ers and the Boston Celtics.

DraftKings also recently agreed a partnership with the North American NHL ice hockey league as well as NFL American football teams the Denver Broncos and the New England Patriots.
