Contagious agrees Manyx deal to distribute Goal Time in Africa

Toronto-listed Contagious Gaming has signed an agreement to provide mobile content aggregation business Manyx Interactive with its proprietary Goal Time betting platform for distribution in African markets. As well as licensing its pari-mutuel betting platform to Manyx, Contagious will also provide the supplier with live sports data and support services related to the maintenance of the software platform.

Contagious will be entitled to a one-time licensing fee, as well as royalty payments based on gross revenue from Manyx customers using the Goal Time solution.

Any distribution agreement entered into by Manyx which involves the Goal Time solution is subject to Contagious’ approval, while the deal, as a licensing agreement, means that the company will not be operating in any new jurisdictions.

Contagious Gaming’s chief executive Peter Glancy said he was pleased to announce that the company had licensed the Goal Time platform into significant jurisdictions that are among the largest global audiences for the English Premier League.

“The structure of this particular agreement allows us to focus on operating Goal Time in our core markets, while at the same time deploying the Goal Time software platform in other key soccer markets around the world,” he explained.

Its new partner, Manyx, is a provider and aggregator of content for mobile and telecommunications operators. Headquartered in the Nigerian capital of Lagos, it is regulated by the Nigerian Communications Commission, allowing it to provide content to mobile network operators such as MTN Group, Airtel Africa and Glo Mobile.
