US-based fantasy sports operator DraftKings has further expanded its commercial portfolio after it entered into a partnership with NFL American football franchise the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Under the deal, the terms of which were not disclosed, DraftKings will become the team’s official daily fantasy sports partner.
DraftKings will provide opportunities for fans to engage with the team through various experiences, tickets to games and VIP events.
The operator will also provide in-stadium fantasy sports updates and benefit from branding placement on LED signage displays and the team’s various digital platforms.
“Fantasy sports are an increasingly important part of the fan experience for Steelers fans,” Steelers’ director of corporate partnerships and sales, Ryan Huzjak, said.
“Our partnership with DraftKings will continue to provide many opportunities to Steelers Nation, and we are excited about moving forward in order to engage our fans with fantasy sports in unique ways.”
Paul Liberman, co-founder and chief operating officer of DraftKings, added: “The types of experiences that we have in the works as the result of this relationship will be truly innovative and benefit the fans in the stadium and at home.”
The agreement marks DraftKings’ third partnership in the NFL, having already struck similar deals with the Denver Broncos and New England Patriots.
The operator has also established relationships with North American NHL ice hockey league as well as NBA basketball teams the Minnesota Timberwolves, Houston Rockets, Philadelphia 76ers and Boston Celtics.
