Tabcorp’s Sky Racing adds South African racing to broadcast portfolio

Tabcorp’s racing broadcaster Sky Racing World has secured the rights to South African racing for the American market following an agreement with horse racing and tote betting operator Phumelela Gaming and Leisure.

Sky Racing will market and distribute South Africa racing seven days a week throughout the Americas and Caribbean markets.

“We’re proud Phumelela has chosen Sky Racing World to deliver its racing product to the Americas as we continue to build our offer,” said Sky Racing World CEO David Haslett. “We announced Singapore as a partner just two weeks ago and with South Africa joining in August timing will be perfect leading into the South African Spring/Summer racing season.

“We’ve also seen strong growth in interest for New Zealand racing since we established our US operation.”

Sky Racing World is now responsible for the distribution of racing from four countries around the globe into the Americas. Over 425 wagering locations throughout the Americas currently receive racing from SRW.

Sky Racing’s parent company, Australian gaming giant Tabcorp, already works with Phumelela through a joint venture to operate Isle of Man-based tote gateway, Premier Gateway International (PGI).
