Shay Segev has opted to step down from his role as chief operating officer at Playtech in order to become chief strategy officer at Gala Coral.
Segev joined Playtech in November 2006 to oversee the company’s Videobet subsidiary, before taking a more senior role with Playtech two years later and eventually being appointed chief operating officer in 2011.
During his time with the company, he helped establish the Playtech Retail arm and served as chief executive officer of the division for a period.
However, Segev has now confirmed on his LinkedIn page that he has ended his nine-year spell with the gaming software and services supplier in order to take up a new role with Gala Coral.
The appointment of Segev to the senior management team at Gala Coral comes at a busy time for the gambling operator, which is currently in talks with rival firm Ladbrokes over a potential merger.
Although discussions are ongoing, Ladbrokes announced this week that it was to delay a planned business review presentation due to the stage that the merger talks have reached.
