Gauselmann brings Spanish subsidiary under Merkur brand

German gaming giant Gauselmann Group has renamed its Spanish subsidiary under its Merkur brand as the company looks to create unity across its gaming businesses.

Dosniha Gaming, a leading distributor of AWP machines and operator of nine gaming halls in Spain, became part of Gauselmann in 2012 and has now been renamed Merkur Dosniha.

Gauselmann said that it was an important step forward to complete the integration process and create a harmonious image within the group.

“Merkur Dosniha has advanced to become an industry leader in the Spanish gaming segment in a very short space of time and has become an important member of the family-managed Gauselmann companies,” said Jürgen Stühmeyer, sales director of the Gauselmann Group. “The recent outstanding market entry in the bar sector also mirrors the successful strategy of the Spanish subsidiary.

“The next logical step in then to integrate Merkur Dosniha into the core brand of the Gauselmann Group”, he explained.

Merkur Dosniha CEO Carlos Chacón said that being able to use the Merkur brand was an honour and privilege.

“It implies quality, success, experience, innovation and entertainment,” he said. “However, we are also keeping the ‘Dosniha’ brand as a measure of respect, as well as keeping the reputation that our team has built for itself on the Spanish market.”
